Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid – 4 days/week in office)
Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Compensation: $110,000–$120,000 annual salary + performance-based bonus

About the Role
The Director of Finance & Payroll will lead accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance efforts across multiple business entities. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and helping drive informed decisions as the company scales. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Oversee accounting operations across restaurant, retail, and airport entities, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close

  • Manage payroll across multiple locations and pay structures (hourly, salaried, tipped employees)

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and payroll laws, including oversight of insurance, tax filings, and reporting requirements

  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with leadership

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and provide actionable insights to the executive team

  • Maintain and optimize Restaurant365 (R365) and integrated systems (e.g., Toast, ADP)

  • Develop and implement SOPs, internal controls, and best practices to support operational excellence

  • Support cash flow management and banking relationships

  • Partner closely with HR and operations to ensure smooth financial processes


Who You Are
 
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting and payroll, including at least 3 years in a leadership role

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, payroll compliance, and multi-entity financial management

  • Experience in the restaurant industry strongly preferred

  • Proficient with Restaurant365 (R365), Toast POS, and ADP or equivalent systems

  • Knowledgeable in payroll tax regulations, insurance requirements, and labor law compliance (especially in Colorado)

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize in a dynamic environment

  • Comfortable working across departments and leading change through influence and expertise


Preferred Qualifications
 
  • CPA or MBA a plus but not required

  • Multi-state payroll experience is a bonus

  • Experience building financial infrastructure in a growing organization
